How it all began
We first met in Cabo San Lucas while on family vacations, one of those right-place, right-time moments we still get asked about all the time. Our families ended up sitting near each other by the pool, and before long everyone was talking like old friends. Taylor asked if he could buy Rae a drink (at an all-inclusive resort, which we still laugh about), and while timing wasn’t on our side that night, we exchanged numbers before heading home.

New Year’s Eve 2018 - 3 Days After Rae’s 23 Birthday
Once we were back in the States, we mostly stayed in touch on Snapchat, which makes us laugh now but it worked. After we graduated, Taylor flew into Kansas City for Rae's 23rd birthday and that’s when things really began. Not long after, we decided it was time to end the distance and start our life together in Miami.
Christmas 2020 - Rae, Taylor & Lola
We moved to Denver in 2021. Denver checked all the boxes: 300 days of sun, a growing city, and endless opportunities to explore the outdoors. In the winter, Taylor heads for the slopes with his snowboard while we both enjoy Nordic skiing together. When we’re not out in the mountains, we love exploring new corners of Colorado and diving into Denver’s growing food scene.
Our home life is run (or maybe ruled) by two very different cats. Lola is sharp, sassy, and tolerates everyone else but adores Rae. Teddy, on the other hand, is a lovable goofball whose favorite pastime is committing petty crimes around the house. He’s a cat with the personality of a dog: if you’ve met him, you’re already his friend. Together, they keep us laughing and make sure there’s never a dull moment at home.

We love to travel, whether it’s a quick road trip or heading abroad. A recent trip was to Burgundy and Alsace, planned by Taylor after Rae started studying wine. We’ve also been to Scandinavia, Alaska, Aruba, Curaçao, and plenty of U.S. spots like Seattle, the Smokey Mountains, and Willamette Valley.
Food is always part of the adventure. We especially love sushi, but we’re game to try anything new. Traveling, eating, and saying yes to new experiences are some of our favorite ways to spend time together.
July 2022 - Taylor & Teddy
We got engaged in Pagosa Springs in September 2023 and immediately fell in love—with the mountains, the quiet charm of the town, and the hot springs we kept finding excuses to return to. It quickly became a special place for us, so when it came time to choose where to get married, the decision felt easy. We’ve visited every year since we got engaged, and this time, we came back to tie the knot.
